Auditions

The St. Joseph's Singers is an auditioned mixed chorus of sixteen to twenty-four singers. Auditions can be arranged by contacting the director at (917) 239-0919, or sending an email to .

Audition Process

Auditions will last twenty to thirty minutes, and consist of the following:

• Short interview
• A sight-reading exercise comprised of excerpts from two compositions
• Vocalizes
• Performance of an art song or oratorio aria of the singer's choice

If the singer has a current resume, it is suggested that a copy be provided to the director.

Current Openings

The chorus has openings in all voice parts.

Membership Requirements

Singers who are accepted into the chorus are expected to study the music on their own, and come to the first rehearsal with the notes to their part learned. Scores and rehearsal tapes are distributed before the first rehearsal.
